Day Sixty-Five
Monday again! Somehow this keeps happening...
AND it's the first day of Spring!? which I just found out at 9 pm... I was not aware that it changed days - I thought it was always the 21st of March.
Yet another reason why I should pay attention to some version of news or awareness of the world/dates/things happening... and as I write that I know it is not likely for me to change that aspect of my life. I stopped paying attention because of all the negativity out there and being spread about. Reading/learning about it was not helpful for my mental health and overall stress level so I stopped. And honestly, I feel great. I am occasionally out of the know / rely on family or coworkers to inform me of major events. Not that I live under a rock, I have social media so if something crazy happens, I usually see a blurb to be able to dig in if more info is needed. But overall, I have not felt like I am missing anything by not getting a daily dose of "news".
ANYWAYS back to the regularly scheduled programming here...
Work was good - slow productivity because I was trying to finish reading this book about health and the importance of nutrition.
Book is called "How Not to Die" (discover the foods scientifically proven to prevent and reverse disease by Dr. Michael Greger.
My mom had read it and I was curious to check it out. Since I am already making health / diet changes, what else was advised. I am still 'young' so if various habits or particular aspects to dieting can prevent me from getting various diseases, definitely want to know to start now.
It is an interesting book - quite lengthy given all the studies involved. And I expect I'll actually dedicate a full post to my thoughts and take aways. Tonight though, I am still digesting all the info obtained and what that might look like for me personally.
Food today:
- blueberries on the commute
- chai tea
- chickpea pasta with chicken sausage and asparagus for lunch
- small cucumber and green grapes and pretzel crisps as snacks
- dinner was supposed to be eggs, but I got side tracked too long at home, then I didn't want to cook anything and now I'm having some dark chocolate covered pomegranate and milk.
Yesterday's yoga was just a bit of bedtime stretching. Tonight I am going to wrap this up so I can get a full stretch in and get to bed on time.
