Day 123
Day 1 2 3 that's fun.
I'm writing this blog after the fact because I needed to be able to step back to really reflect on this day.
I had some frustrations with work. I am helping two sites and trying to do my best at both. Wednesdays are already usually a busy day for me and today was no different in that regard either. So many many things going on, people to keep up with, and mile long to do lists. It was a productive day, I got things done. But we are short staffed and I couldn't even get a real lunch break in. I ended up with an employee upset by the way additional tasks were presented to him so I met with him during my 'lunch' to explain my perspective. And that was the frustrating part of the day - that others had come in and made it seem like my team wasn't doing what they should be. We all do our jobs and work quite hard. So to have the implication made that anything else was the case, based on nothing more than assumptions and not even asking questions - was extremely frustrating. And given that I am working my very best to even help cover for others - it was just draining and exhausting.
My boss is amazing though and as always - hears things out and reassures that she has the team's back and she knows we are all doing our stuff and keeping things moving smoothly.
Again, stepping away from it - everyone just wants things to go well and look good. So it isn't personal. Just again, frustrating, that in the moment, people can't convey that. It often comes across blame-y.
moving on...
I actually did not get my step count in for the day. I'm going to caulk that up to wearing high heels.
Had the normal tea and blueberries for breakfast.
Lunch was baby potatoes, green beans, refried black beans, with a side salad (guac for dressing) and a celery with corn dip side.
Afternoon snacks of a pear and a Dr Pepper for the caffeine.
Dinner was some snack cheese, and my hubby cut up a mango for me.
