slowest day of the year so far

Today has been a bit rough.

Let's review in reverse... I am typing this just before bedtime, with herbal tea and a beeswax candle glowing on my desk. It is the most peaceful I have felt all day.


When I got home from work, I did a yoga for combating SAD - which was well timed.

My workday was full of productive tasks, but also so busy that I did not get to even enjoy the carrot cake oatmeal cookies I had planned to have for 'dinner'. 

I did remember at least to have my fruit as a late afternoon / early evening snack. 


Lunch was veggie pasta - always delish.


Prelunch was a veggie tray with some vegan mayo for dipping.


I had a big chai that I brought with me and a regular sized Starbucks today.

Breakfast was overnight oatmeal with apple & banana.


I had an unsettled morning - I woke up from bad dreams, into my brother's venting, into being informed of the tragedies that occurred overnight... it was a lot - especially first thing. I only even managed to do a 5 minute sitting / breathing yoga to start the day and I was still nearly late.
